Transform Lives.
Empower People.

As a CIC, we empower underserved communities by providing essential life and work skills through impactful programs, transforming lives and unlocking potential often overlooked in traditional learning settings.

Ubuntu Pledge continues to provide Krishna with ongoing one-to-one support, helping her adapt to new life stages with dignity, independence, and digital confidence. Her journey is a powerful example of the importance of long-term, holistic care — not just a one-off intervention, but continuous, compassionate engagement that puts people first.

Krishna

Support Provided

Originally introduced to us through an NHS App training session, Krishna reached out for further help managing day-to-day life and navigating key transitions — particularly as she moved from Universal Credit into pension support, following the loss of her husband, who previously managed most of her administrative responsibilities.

Krishna lives with physical mobility challenges, walks with a stick, and has limited access to digital tools. Ubuntu Pledge’s ongoing support has focused on promoting her digital independence, financial stability, and emotional wellbeing, while advocating on her behalf with public services.

Ubuntu Pledge built a one-to-one, trusted relationship with Krishna, supporting her through multiple life transitions and helping her stay digitally and socially connected.

Key areas of support included:

  • Benefits & Government Support
    • Assisted with Universal Credit claims and updates
    • Supported a smooth transition to pension support upon turning 66
    • Managed correspondence with DWP and local housing offices
    • Currently supporting her Freedom Pass application
  • Housing, Bills & Communications
    • Helped her manage rent payments and utility bills
    • Resolved phone account issues and supported her with understanding communications from service providers
  • Digital Inclusion
    • Provided Krishna with an iPad, thanks to support from the Good Things Foundation
    • Helped her access the internet and taught her how to use digital tools for day-to-day life
    • Invited her regularly to group digital sessions and training workshops to build her confidence and skills
  • Emotional Support & Continuity
    • Offered regular in-person and phone support to reduce her isolation
    • Helped her regain independence after the loss of her husband, who previously handled her personal admin
    • Provided a familiar and friendly presence, ensuring she always had someone to call for support or guidance
